The utter magic of these words will….

Hello!

When you speak or think these words, magic happens..INSTANTANEOUSLY.

“I always know what to do, when to do it and how.” 

As I have said before, your unconscious mind runs the show–the WHOLE show. Whatever you tell it to do it honors and delivers. It does not care what your logical conscious mind may prefer, it simply does what you tell it to do. PERIOD.

Let’s face it, we all have those moments when we find ourselves confused, conflicted and unsure of what to do next. Let’s say you have a situation that could have some long term challenges and you cannot see how it could work out. We naturally say things like, I just don’t know what to do, or –gee I am so confused, or I just don’t see how this could be solved and be worked out. Keeping in mind what I just said –guess what kind of message that sends to your unconscious mind! Yup–a powerfully clear one that says, I am confused, keep me there, give me more of that confusion or even– there is no solution! Is that what you reallllllly want??? I think not! YIKES!!

These words above can shift your thinking AND feeling instantaneously.

Try it in those moments of uncertainty–with everything. Even the silly things that may not seem a big deal to you. Imagine that you are shopping and having a hard time finding just the right outfit. What if you are trying to decide which course to take or even what to do with your day off. It will work for the little things in your life and those big decisions like choosing between jobs or relationship challenges . It works. Trust me.

Have some fun with it. Say these magic words and notice the big internal shift. The moment you say them, either silently or out loud you will FEEL the change. Now your unconscious mind knows just what to do! HOORAY for you!

The secret of APPRECIATION

Hello!

We humans are brilliant at adapting to circumstances. We are truly amazing beings!

On the one hand, this is a great mechanism. It means we can keep going even when seemingly horrible things happen to us, instead of plunging into despair. Plus it’s quite handy in the world we live, since without these adaptation mechanisms, we’d spend our days staring at the world around us, looking like a deer in the headlights!

On the other hand, I must say it’s a bit of a shame how quickly we can take things for granted. We lose our appreciation for all the wonderful things around us.

That’s why I’ve got a challenge for you, for this week.

The appreciation challenge.

My challenge to you is simple – this coming week, take some time to appreciate everything around you. I mean EVERYTHING.

Think about it–from the moment you get up in the morning, you are bombarded with things that have the potential to leave you in awe, if only you can take the time to appreciate them.

From seeing your alarm clock – and marveling at the idea of having standardized time all around the globe, with seven billion people–Now that’s pretty awesome!

In the morning when you wash your face, appreciate all that has to occur for you to be able to wash your beautiful face. Have you ever thought about just how much effort goes into getting such a simple thing as potable water into your home? The effort that went into building the pipes, and filtering the water, and checking its quality, and providing the energy to pump it all the way into your home. YIKES!! That’s a lot to appreciate.

I am asking you all to take a moment and feel how connected you are to the rest of humanity just like this.

Take the time to appreciate all the people around you – whether it’s your family, friends, or just random strangers you meet. Take the time to appreciate all the little things they do to make your life easier and more fulfilling.

As you walk around, take the time to appreciate the sights. How the sunshine radiates off buildings, the pretty shapes of the clouds, the sunlight that warms our planet. Notice the trees and bushes you come across. Notice the little grasses that stubbornly make their way through those cracks in the sidewalks. Observe all the man-made structures that enable you to function with ease and harmony. Notice the people you see, take a risk and smile at a stranger. Feel what each of those sights evokes in you, and take the time to appreciate it. I mean realllllllllly appreciate it.

Appreciate the sounds and the smells. How would you know to move out of the way if the siren didn’t alert you? Appreciate the feel of light wind on your skin. Close your eyes and appreciate your sense of balance.
That old law of gravity is a pretty cool thing isn’t it?

Appreciate. Appreciate. Appreciate more. Appreciate even more.

Go ahead—go on a rampage of appreciation. HAVE FUN WITH IT! I guarantee you that whatever you are feeling in the moment before you stepped into appreciation will improve. If you are joyful your joy will be increased. If you are in a not so very good mood you will feel lighter and more optimistic. Trust me!

If you really want to get the most out of this challenge, I suggest you make yourself some kind of reminder, so that you’ll take the time to appreciate everything around you, several times per day. This can be a slip of paper that you put in a place that you will see several times per day. Or you can set yourself a reminder on your phone. Or you can write “Appreciate.” on the inside of your hand. 🙂 I put my post it note in my car!

It is amazing how one seemingly small act of appreciation can be the simple secret to increasing your joy ten fold!

Five quickie tips to motivation!

Motivation—-YES!! You gotta have it—and it is an essential key to success.

Do you know that research actually shows that motivation is the key behind the expert minds? Are you ready for some tips so you too can join in with those expert minds?

Before we jump in—let’s talk reality. It’s not easy to be motivated, let alone be motivated for the whole day. There are times when challenges and problems happen and make us feel sort of crappy and definitely not so motivated. It could just actually be one of those days that we are just not at our tip top energy level. It happens because life happens.

The good news is that are some simple things you can do to keep that motivation turned up and be motivated and energized throughout the day ! HOOORAY! Here is how:

1. Rise early–or earlier!
I don’t know about you, but for me, rising early is not always easy – yet there is a kind of magic….when I do it! It makes me feel more enthusiastic and energized throughout the day. Maybe it’s because by rising early I can start the day fresh without having to rush on everything. It really helps me to have more time to be prepared mentally and physically to jump into the day. Instead of hitting the snooze button it will be as if you are hitting the motivation button!

2. Pick a “quote of the day”
Pick a favorite quote in the morning and keep it in mind throughout the day. Of course, the quote should be something that motivates and inspires you. Sign up for one of those quotes of the day e-mails and refer to it throughout your day. It will give you that boost. There are a lot of them out there! One of my favorites is from TUT—“Notes from the Universe” They are fun, playful, very powerful and very motivating!

3. Find the positive side of everything
One main cause for losing motivation is thinking negatively about the events which are happening to us. Every time you think negatively about something, you actually lose a part of your energy. YIKES!! It is as if you are choosing to deliberately send your energy to that negative thing. OH BOY! Do that for any part of day and you will feel very exhausted. So choose to find the positive side of everything. See that glass as half full. Remember that everything happens for a reason. That reason just may be to push you to look at the positive side and flex those muscles of freedom of choice.

4. Focus on giving
It is in giving that we receive. Contributing to others is always motivating. It works for me. Whenever I am feeling a little less than what I want to feel or just a tad bit down—I give something to someone. A greeting, a dollar, a hug, a smile, a phone call to see how they are—it gets me out of me. It helps me to immediately shift the focus. Also, there is something about giving that gives you extra happiness.IT TRULY DOES! Brighten someone else’s life today and I guarantee you your life will also be brightened.

5. Decide to be a winner
Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you are right! It is your decision that makes the difference. This simple, yet utterly powerful singular thing can change your entire life! So decide to be a winner. See everything as a win. Heck- it is getting you closer to the next win! Who can resist you then?
