Are you ready to leap into results?????

Remember the power lies in the question. My research has showed that there is a slightly different way to phrase a popular NLP question that we as practitioners often ask. YUP—we are always improving too! In making this slight change—-I am finding that a powerful shift occurs.

What is that ONE question????

What is the result I have in mind?”

YES!!! This is called the RESULT STATE OF MIND question.  Use this question— use it all the time and you will notice your whole world changing for the better.

NOW—notice what 3 questions sound verrrrrrrrrrry similar BUT ought NOT to be asked!

1. “What do I want?

Asking “what do I want” can trigger a state that many people find not all that useful. The “wanting it” state. If you prefer–you can start with this question, but move into the RESULT STATE OF MIND question fast or you risk being stuck in wanting for a longggggggggg time. Oh yes—this is the question that I had used for quite some time—-and as I said you can begin with this one—but—ask the results question right afterwards—and notice the shift!

2. “What do I hope to accomplish?

Questions based on accomplishment have some great power in them, because they make getting the result UP TO YOU. However—the biggest problem with this specific question is “hope”. Hope tends to put getting the result outside of you, while accomplishing the goal is up to you. This kind of question may end up diluting your focus. REMEMBER—Hope is NOT a strategy!

3. “Why do I never get things done?”

YIKES!! Ask this specific question, and you never will get anything done, including getting an answer that will FREE YOU. Whoaaaaa—listen, if you are ready to make some changes, one of the most powerful things you can do is ELIMINATE most of your why questions, because they are mostly a big waste of time.


Try this sequence below.  Notice how it focuses and energizes you.

1.  “What is the result you / I have in mind?”

This question will focus you on the SPECIFIC WHAT.

2.  “What are the 3 main benefits of this result?”

This question will help you understand what you realllllllllly do desire, and help you also access the energy needed to get this done.  This specific question may also refine or totally redefine “the result you have in mind”!!!

3.  “What 3 things can I do starting right now on this?

Ok—now come on—-not starting later this week, not starting later today, starting right now.  For example—(1) I jotted down a note, (2) put it by my monitor, and (3) made a commitment to write THIS ARTICLE.

WOOHOO—this article is a direct result of using these questions!

 I want to help YOU get results! You can NOW trade your reasons and confusions for results.

That comfy ole comfort zone

I wonder if as January has ended and February begins that any of you are becoming remotely aware that you MAY be falling into that same old comfort zone regarding some of those goals you set and  have not yet achieved.  Maybe you are finding yourself saying, I’ll do it tomorrow, or I just don’t know what to do or how to do it or how do I even begin anyway?

What if I told you that there was an instantaneous way to get momentum and extend that comfort zone and easily become comfortable with your uncomfortableness?

I don’t know about you..but I love to be comfortable! Many times we STAY where we are because we are uncomfortable making changes and the unknown is daunting. I KNOW!  Have you ever wanted to go swimming and the water was a bit too chilly—yet as you slowly ventured FORWARD the water somehow felt less chilly. Why, you ask? It is simply because you took the risk  and stepped forward and  literally in a few short moments you became comfortable with that which you were uncomfortable with just a few moments earlier.Yes, with each step forward you took you actually expanded your comfort zone to include that which you had previously been uncomfortable with!

Just the other day I finally took action on something new which had been a bit daunting to me. I kept moving this item forward on my to do list for over 2 months. I was uncomfortable and was unsure how to proceed. For me it was the old pattern of “take no action if you don’t know what to do” that crept in. This of course only increased my discomfort every time I looked at my to do list! I finally just decided that I would not end the day without completing this. The funny thing is that completing this brand new thing actually only took me less than an hour and it has opened up a whole new avenue of business for me!

So, what is the one thing that will instantaneously extend your comfort zone??? BEGIN the thing that daunts you….JUST BEGIN ….you do not need to finish it, JUST BEGIN NOW! Although I think that you will be surprised at just how much you accomplish as your comfort zone is extended and your discomfort magically disappears!

As Yoda says in Star Wars, “Do or do not, there is no try.”

The magic of goal setting


WOW…what a difference a year makes!! Last year at this time I was literally days away from signing my first book contract and NOW just one —yes ONE year later I have my first book published “GPS FOR SUCCESS”—the SECOND one (yes there’s another!) being edited as we speak…and now a THIRD….being written as we speak!!

YES!! I took a big step towards my dream….I set my intention and then took action and welllllllllllllll…the rest is……..all the in between…..YES…I did the work to make it happen….AND once I set my intention or goal…whichever word you may choose… was literally amazing who and what showed up to assist me!

I was VERY clear that I wanted to become a published author. I set the goal. I used the goal setting process whereby you insert a goal into your future timeline and then ………………..the magic happened. Yes, I also cleared out all my limiting beliefs and literally became congruent with my goal. It was as if my word was law.!! HOW COOL IS THAT??? All things lined up in ways my finite mind could hardly imagine. It was incredible!

Now, that is what I call the magic of NLP and effective goal setting using your timeline!

Are you ready for some of your own magic??

The VERY first step is to be CLEAR on what you want. I mean after all when you go to a restaurant you don’t tell the server  to just bring you anything, do you?? Our system is wired the same way. We must be specific and clear- just like I was.

So, why not give it a try. Write down what you want and then read it out loud. Notice what comes up for you. Write that down. This will give you an idea of whether you are congruent with your desire or if you may have some limiting beliefs or conflicts around this. Remember –a belief is only a thought you keep thinking and thoughts can be changed!


Remember to honor the all of you –for every belief and decision we have made has always been there to serve us and always has what we call an intended positive outcome. It is true that those beliefs may need to be updated in light of who you are today and what you want. The process for that is indeed a simple one and thankfully a speedy one too!
